Antique Die Cut Cruikshank Caricaturist Aristocracy Figure Heads
A very rare find. These are a collection of caricatures labeled as The Aristocracy. All done by the British caricaturist Cruikshank. I believe they were probably one sheet of die cut cut-outs to be used for cards or “scrap booking”. There are 12 different characters. 4 of them have a very small torn spot on each. They have delightful titles: The Old Earl, Charity and Wealth The Hunting Squire Good Old Style, The Eldest Son, 20 Living in his gift, Indiar Yas Indiar Hot Place Indiar, The Duchess, His Grace, Powerful man in his county, Club Specimen, The Dowager Duchess, and Lady Maud Ethel Dorothy De Vere. Cruikshank did illustrations for Charles Dickens. The Dowager Duchess was one character in a Dickens book. Each has a title tag attached to the bottom of their figure. 2 of the tags are loose. They are not fragile but care should be taken. Color is great. Just over 2″ long.
