1926 Wedgwood “Edme” Ribbed Sandwich Platter, Made in England
Beautiful and classic creamy white Wedgwood platter in a lovely rounded square shape with slim handles. The “Edme” pattern is one of Wedgwood’s most popular and long lasting styles, produced from 1904-2014. This particular piece is a very nice example in excellent condition and dates to the earlier years of the pattern’s production. The impressed mark on the back reads: “Wedgwood” “Made in England” and “4LC” which precisely dates the piece to 1926.
It features beautiful embossed ribbing and braided edges with leaf and branch handles. It would make a lovely serving or display piece. I think it would be oh-so-pretty used as a bathroom vanity tray for holding perfumes, lotions, etc.
Measures 9 3/4″ long x 9 1/8″ wide x 1 3/4″ high
Excellent condition – no apparent chips or cracks. The glaze itself seems to have some very light colored spots (part of the production process).
